The great enemy of faith is doubt which is nothing but fear. That is why I said the faith that will please God must be ready to damn the consequence and fear not, though it ended in death; "we have passed from death unto life", and Jesus saith "I am the ressurection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?" (Jn.11:25-26). Doubt-spirits attack through sight, feeling, hearing, thought and the other senses, wanting to remind the person of the agony a man will pass through if God does not come down to perform miracle. But lo, you and I should say "O Death where is thy sting? O grave where is thy victory". Christ has ascended on high and hast led captivity captive! A person may not realize what is "doubt" until you begin to exercise your faith and ask the Lord why it does not work for you. Then He shall tell you. For example, while the Lord Jesus was walking upon the sea, Peter was bold enough to ask the Lord to bid him come unto Him on the water; "and He said come; and when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But WHEN HE SAW THE WIND BOISTEROUS, HE WAS AFRAID; AND BEGINING TO SINK, HE CRIED, saying Lord save me .... Jesus.. caught him ... and said unto him O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?" (Mat.14:28-31). One day I had to go and tell a sister of the morrow's baptism and it was getting windy, threat of a heavy rain, ready to fall. I talked to the Lord that I must inform the sister to prepare for the baptism early enough so I decreed that the rain should not fall till I returned and I must need trek a distance. As I started to go, a voice (the devil's voice) reminded me of my umbrella in the car-safe which I nearly picked up forgetting about my decree; but the Lord's voice quickly reminded me of my decree which shall not stand anymore if I picked up that umbrella, since umbrella is man-made device for protecting from rain. Yea it shall be "DOUBT" if I feared the rain to pick up the umbrella. So I put down the umbrella, damning the consequence, and spoke to the sky again that "I have commanded the rain not to fall till I returned." And it was so. See! See what is faith now? FAITH will damn the consequence, ready to be drenched in the rain if it disobeys, while DOUBT will pick up the man-made device (umbrella). Brother, doubt your doubt. Another time I entered a village to preach with a public- addressing system (Loud speakers). As I was spreading the speaker-wires, the cloud was darkening, and wind blowing, threat of a heavy rain. The Lord told me to look up and rebuke the rain not to fall until I finish my course in that village. But the devil's voice was coming to my thought to stop spreading the wires since rain will not allow preaching, or at least wait a while to see if the rain will obey. But I maintained my desperation that I must preach in the village and that the rain must not fall till I finish my course in the village. Lo, the heavy cloud vanished and I continued in that village. Yea brother, doubt your doubt! Doubt would have stopped the wires to wait and see if the wind and rain will obey before continuing. No sir! Go ahead with what you are doing. That is faith, when you have decreed. Damn the consequence! Be ready to be drenched in the rain if not so. To take to man-made protection or devil's thought, is "doubt". Jesus said "If ye have faith and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done ... but also ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed ... and it shall be done. And all things whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive" (Mat.21:21-22).
God is faithful to all His promises. It is man that is wavering. Many believers believe they need no drug, that they can pray and lay hands upon the sick and the sickness will depart. But if after you commanded the sickness to go you went aside to pick up man-made tablet or drug, you have doubted your authority over the sickness spirit anyway. Faith without works is dead! This is the work which your faith must do. To damn the consequence and believe the promise of God to the end. If at this time you are brushing aside God's faithful word to accept man-made drugs against sickness for fear of death, how then shall you not deny Christ in the face of sword for the same fear of death? The scripture spoke of Abraham that he believed the promise of God to the end. He staggered not at His promise neither consider he his own body that was now dead nor Sarah's womb which was dead because she judged him faithful who had promised (Heb.11:9-11, Rom.4:19-21).
Behold, every faith has to be proved and you prove your faith in the word of God with patience and longsuffering. If you believe Mark 16:18 that "ye shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover", it shall be proved upon yourself when the sicknesses shall come and you bow not to man-made drug but you battle the sickness to the end by prayer and decree! God shall intervene when you have proved thyself believing in His sight. Thenceforth shall those devils obey you at your first command without delay. People who have not this faith but are merely obeying their denominational rules and conduct are those that have always caused the name of the Lord to be evil spoken of. "FOR THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH (not by denominational dogmas). Faith is ready to lay down his life for what he believes to be the word of God and not fear the consequence while Doubt will easily go back to accept unbelievers prescription of drug. Yea, know the authority of believers; (Luke 10:19).
But behold, "He that findeth his life shall lose it, and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it" (Mat. 10:39). Brethren, doubt your doubt! "Wherefore didst thou doubt?" saith the Lord.
